A new mile-long bridge is being built on the Illinois Tollway.

Don't get me wrong. I know it's a good thing when they are fixing roads on the highway. I just can't help thinking about the traffic back-ups I'm going to have to face while it's happening.

It's springtime and that means all the projects are starting. There are some big ones coming.

According to abc7chicago.com,

"The Illinois Tollway is about to start a massive bridge construction project along the Tri-State Tollway."

This bridge will be located between 75th Street and LaGrange Road on I-294. It will replace a 61-year-old one that has needed lots of work over the past few years. Over 150,000 vehicles use it every day.

The project is long and complicated. The new bridge won't be completed until 2023. When it's done, there will be five lanes going in each direction.

Get yourself a Snickers because you won't be going anywhere for a while.
