Illinois Families Say Trunk-or-Treating Is the New Halloween Tradition
When I was a kid, Halloween was simple. Fun. Nothing crazy. We'd all dress up, go up and down the neighborhoods in our area, knocking on everyone's doors without a care in the world. Now? People are barely handing out candy!

Fewer houses are handing out candy, neighborhoods aren't as lively, and sometimes you can walk half a block without seeing a single porch light on. It kind of takes away from the excitement when kids are dressed up and ready to go, but end up with very little candy because participation just isn't what it used to be.
That's exactly why trunk-or-treats are a big hit now.

Parents are finding them easier, safer, more reliable, and way more fun for the kids because they're guaranteed sugar! Instead of wandering around in the dark hoping someone opens their door and doesn't call the cops on you, kids get to go car-to-car, seeing decorated trunks, and hang out in a safe environment.

It's basically a mini Halloween block party!
At the end of the day, that's what it really comes down to: safety. Times have changed, and parents just want peace of mind that their children come home in one piece. Trunk-or-treating is still super fun for everyone, and it doesn't seem like it's going away anytime soon.
