These bitter cold conditions we've been seeing can be extremely dangerous, especially for anyone without access to shelter.  Being exposed to extreme winter weather can put residents at risk of frostbite, hypothermia, and even death.  That's why warming centers play a critical role in providing safe, warm, and temporary shelter for individuals in need.

The state of Illinois and local communities in Winnebago and Boone counties understand how important the Homeless Hotline and Warming Centers are.  If you see someone in need, don’t hesitate to help. Sometimes, people aren’t aware of the resources available to them.
