Missouri & Illinois Now Part of Popular Snack Food Product Recall
My family keeps these snacks around the house in case of a sudden craving and I know many others that do, too. I've just learned that both Missouri and Illinois need to check the pantries because both states are now a part of a massive recall of this popular snack.
The Food and Drug Administration just issued an urgent alert of one of the more popular snack bars in America. The recall has now expanded to include Missouri and Illinois along with most of the other states. The announcement says there is potential salmonella poisoning in more than a dozen variations of Quaker Granola Bars.
Here are just a few of the bars to look for:

There are also some Quaker Oats granola cereals in this recall, too. Make sure to check the FDA bulletin for the complete list.
As the Mayo Clinic says, salmonella infection is especially dangerous for the young, the elderly and those with compromised immune systems. In extreme cases, it can be fatal. That's why this snack bar and cereal recall is as urgent as it is.
