It's a sad day for parishioners of this Illinois church congregation after an insane woman does major damage with a fire.

Illinois Police Arrest Woman For Starting Fire Inside Church

Recently, a church, The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, in Des Plaines was deliberately started on fire. This incident occurred around 2:30 am. The blaze caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to this place of worship. Luckily, with the help of surveillance footage, the local police were able to arrest the suspect. It's a woman from Arlington Heights. There has been no reason given for the arson.

Illinois Woman Starts Fire In Church

The whole situation is very strange. From the security video I was able to watch, the woman seems calm the whole time. She's got the fire going and she's just causally adding items to make it bigger. The suspect threw anything and everything into the blaze. It's hard to catch all the stuff but I saw her toss crutches, canes, crosses, books, rosaries, trash, and even a garbage can right on top. Plus, so much more. Check out the video for yourself...

Illinois Church Fire Is Comparable To Bonfire

As I watched the security tape, I couldn't help but think the situation reminded me of a bonfire. One like in a 1980s college fraternity movie. The members are throwing just about everything besides the kitchen sink on top of the fire. Of course, it gets out of control and burns the place down.

The church hosts an annual two-day event during the month of December. It's the biggest ceremony of its kind in the United States. This year is the 10th anniversary. Hopefully, they have the place ready to go by then.
