The Chicago Bears' potential move to Indiana is not finalized, as discussions continue over the Illinois stadium deal. So, you're saying there's a chance? That line from a classic 90s comedy popped into my head when I read today's news.

Bears-to-Indiana Deal Questioned After Subreddit Post

On the Chicago Bears subreddit, a link from X.com and a post from someone named Evan Sidery stated that the Bears-to-Indiana deal isn't a done deal.

Sidery said:

Illinois governor JB Pritzker says a 'broad agreement' is in place with the Bears for a new stadium in Arlington Heights.
Updated legislation would allow the Bears to negotiate the amount they pay in property taxes at their new stadium site.
A committee hearing to decide this is scheduled for Thursday morning.

JB Pritzker Says “Broad Agreement” Exists for Arlington Heights Stadium

If you're hoping this is true, apparently, Pritzker did say this, and it looks like there is one last shred of hope for the Bears to remain playing their home games in Illinois.

Chicago Bears Seeking $1 Billion in Public Funds

The Bears, however, want a few things to make this happen, including about a billion dollars in public funds. That's not a typo; an actual billion dollars to make the stadium in Arlington Heights work.

Those funds would help cover new roads, upgraded utilities, and more, according to CBS News out of Chicago.

Property Tax Negotiations Could Decide the Bears’ Future

The Bears also want to negotiate their property tax bill with local governments. While Pritzker says they are willing to talk about it, I am unsure whether the Bears are gonna get their billion bucks, which might be why they're fully going through with the move to Indiana.
