Did You Know the UFO Capital of the World is Hiding in One Small Wisconsin Town?

The small town of Dundee, Wisconsin has earned the reputation of being the "UFO Capital of the World" thanks to the hundreds of bizarre sightings and encounters that have taken place there.

Are Aliens Real?

Full disclosure, I do not buy into the existence of aliens. Before you judge me too harshly, please let me explain.

Every time I see someone post a video of something strange they spotted in the sky and claim is a UFO, I'm like, no way, that's a drone...that's an airplane...that's definitely not an alien spaceship...right?!?

Here's the part where I get really honest.  I'm anti-alien for one very big reason;  it FREAKS ME OUT!!!!

Everything about Space makes me really uncomfortable, and aliens/UFOs are a big part of that package... Could it be that there is still so much we don't know about Space? Is it the unending vastness?  It's that and so much more for me.

I tried to watch the movie Gravity starring Sandra Bullock once, and I could only make it through the first 30 min before I got completely weirded out and shut it off. I'm weird, I know.

Anywho...

The UFO Capital of the World

Dundee, Wisconsin is a small unincorporated town located a little South and in between Sheboygan and Fond du Lac.

Dundee, Wisconsin may be small, but it has some mighty peculiar stories to tell and is often called the UFO Capital of Wisconsin, and sometimes...the UFO capital of the entire world.

According to an article from cultofweird.com; "according to data from the National UFO Reporting Center, Wisconsin ranks 23rd for UFO sightings in the United States", and it sounds like many of them happen near Dundee, Wisconsin;

Mysterious orbs of flashing lights and strange objects in the sky are not uncommon in the area, and have turned more than a few skeptics into believers.

Dundee, Wisconsin's UFO Headquarters

Besides strange UFO sightings and alien stories, Dundee is home to a "UFO Headquarters" called Benson's Hide-A-Way.

This extraterrestrial-themed tavern was opened by a man named Bill Benson who has had a fascination with all things alien since mysterious crop circles were found in a field 4 miles from where he lived as a child in the 1940s.

Cult Of Weird's article says;

Benson’s Hide-a-Way, may be the only place in Wisconsin where you can report a UFO sighting, see an alien in a jar, and get a killer fish fry on a Friday night. Alien posters, UFO models, tinfoil hats, and inflatable little green men adorn the interior. There is a scrapbook at the bar full of glowing circles set against a black backdrop – unidentified flying objects photographed in the area by Bill’s friend Tim Hildebrandt, who spent many nights with his cameras on the summit of Dundee Mountain capturing those images.

For several years Benson's Hide-A-Way would host an annual festival called "UFO Daze" that featured hundreds of UFO enthusiasts from all over the nation swapping stories, having fun, and sometimes even seeing UFO action in the skies above them.

The UFO Daze tradition ended when Bill Benson passed away in 2021, but the tavern remains open and is ready to thrill you today!
