Joliet Cops Arrest Man After Attack On Santa’s Belly
When I came across this story, I sighed out loud and thought to myself that it's just not the holiday season until some idiot, or group of idiots, decides that Santa needs a good butt-kicking.
How can you grow to adulthood without realizing that Santa will always have higher popularity numbers than you do, and that going all Joe Palooka on him will end up very badly for you?
A Joliet man knows this. Now.
Apparently Santa's Belly, The One That Shakes When He Laughs Like A Bowl Full Of Jelly, Really Annoyed Some Guy
A week or so back, a Hawk Auto Group employee dressed as Santa Claus at one of the West Jefferson Street auto dealerships in Joliet, which is not an unusual occurrence during the holiday season.
It wasn't long before an incident took place that has probably downgraded someone to the eternal naughty list status.
Peter Steinys, a former Plainfield Park District commissioner, was charged with battery and disorderly conduct.
"Officers determined that while inside of the car dealership, Steinys grew angry and began yelling at an employee," police spokesman Dwayne English said. "Steinys then pushed an employee with both hands and then approached another employee before being separated and escorted out by his family."

Nothing makes a family prouder than having to separate another family member from a brawl and guiding them away from the scene. Oh, wait...that first part should have read "Everything makes a family prouder than..." My mistake.
The strangest part of the story is that Mr. Steinys later headed down to the Joliet Police station, where he informed officers that he'd pushed an employee dressed up as Santa after the employee had bumped into him with his Santa belly.
What is it with violence and Santa Claus? This isn't just an American problem, as you'll see here:
