Justin Bieber's fans think his new song with Chris Brown is about ex Selena Gomez.

The Canadian pop star, who is featured on Brown's latest track titled “Don’t Check on Me,” from his new album, Indigo, has received tons of backlash online for collaborating with the singer, who's a known abuser.

Then, after listening to the collab, fans made connections to Gomez, which sparked even more backlash. It all started when Bieber posted a teaser with the message, “I had some things to say,” which sent his fans into a frenzy. He later changed the caption to just the name of the track, however, it didn't take long for everyone to dissect his lyrics.

“Might run across your mind but don’t worry ’bout me, no/ My heart is back in one piece, it ain’t skipped a beat" Bieber sings on the track, before adding, "Don’t take it personal if I can’t reply now/ I’m distant ’cause I don’t wanna be reached now/ Won’t let the ghosts of our past weigh my future down.”

It's hard not to assume the lines are about the "Back to You" singer, especially because they seemingly reference the fact that Bieber's moved on from their on-again-off-again relationship with wife Hailey Baldwin.

Fans have pointed out that the song perfectly describes Jelena and that it's completely unnecessary for him to still be talking about Gomez now that he's a married man.
