Livestock Seen Hogging the Road Near Rockford

Living in a city like Rockford, I often forget that farmland isn't too far away and I was reminded of that yesterday when my friend Kylie posted a Facebook status that said, "You know you're from a small farm town when while driving to work on the highway, you see a pig in the median. And of course the police officers trying to corral it."

I immediately asked her if she had picture or video because I've never seen anything like it; well except in Iowa but it was usually cattle.  Unfortunately, probably because she was being a safe driver, she didn't. But, the 815 Rockford Scanner Facebook page also had a status update warning drivers to be cautious of the pig in the road and people who were in the area at the time went hog wild with responses.

I'm sure there's some kind of police officer joke in there somewhere.

If you're driving down 20 this morning, please be careful and watch for pigs.
