Local Animal Rescue is in Desperate Need of Volunteers

If there's one thing that can bring a smile to my face and break my heart at the same time, it's seeing animals in need of loving homes. It gets to me every week when I visit Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary; as I walk through the kennels I imagine all the stories these poor dogs and cats would tell us if their furry little bodies were capable of speaking.

I wonder what the animals at Fresh Start Animal Rescue would have to say? According to WIFR, the welfare of dozens of animals is in jeopardy after some staff changes were made, including the termination of the shelter's manager.

The news has led to desperate pleas on Facebook for help; those pleas have turned into conflicting reports on what happened and a lot of finger pointing.

Regardless of who did what, the important thing here is that the welfare of the animals and making sure they are being taken care of in the interim.
