It's spring election day in Illinois! There's a runoff in Chicago for mayor, park district races up for grabs and someone running for city council in Dixon that made me raise an eyebrow.

It is our civic duty to have our voice heard when it comes to elections. Rain or shine we need to get out and "Rock the Vote."

That's right, I went old school. Much better than P. Diddy's "Vote or Die." That always sounded way to ominous for me.

So whether or not you are getting out to vote today, (I think you should) you need to get familiar with a candidate who is running for city council in Dixon, Illinois.

Her name is Tamera Brooks. She put together one of the more interesting candidate letters I have ever seen.

Most candidates that run for any type of office talk about what they like, don't like and what they hope to change if elected.

Brooks' letter was a bit different.  In that letter she mentions "babysitting Angelina Jolie" and "riding in the back of a semi with a 600 pound elephant named Barbara."

Needless to say, I was very entertained. You can read her entire letter here.
