The Best Martini In Illinois Doesn’t Even Have Liquor In It
Sure, you can feel fancy walking around with a martini glass, but you'd look even cooler if it had mashed potatoes in it.
Never in my life did I think I'd be eating food out of a martini glass. It was possibly one of the best decisions I've ever made, though.
On Wednesday, I was at home relaxing and got a text from my coworker, Michelle, inviting me to a fundraiser she was emceeing at. I was really hesitant about saying yes because I wouldn't know anybody at the event other than her.
Then, Michelle said, "Free food" and instantly I agreed to go.
If you say there will be free food, I'll be there without question. I'm so glad I went, too!
Well, everybody was carrying martini glasses around full of mashed potatoes when I arrived. Yes, mashed potatoes. Unusual, yet intriguing.
Usually, you'd expect small desserts and finger food at fundraisers, right?
Naturally, my mind was fixated on getting my hands on this mouthwatering "drink."
Yes, I found the "mashtini" table.
The guy SCOOPED a ball of mashed potatoes into my martini glass and I topped it with bacon, shredded cheese, green onion, sour cream, and some black pepper on top.
The caterers at The Tebala definitely made a great choice with these. This is literally the best thing I have ever eaten. I'm not exaggerating when I say my taste buds were thanking me every time I took another bite.
I was so happy to get my own mashtini that I had to document it. If you asked me, I would say this is 100% the best martini I have ever had, despite not having alcohol in it!
If you've never tried it, I bet it's super easy to make your own! If you know of a restaurant that serves a mashtini, please let me know because I'll be needing my fix very, very soon.
