Dr. Dennis Norem made his weekly visit to the show to give us the latest on the coronavirus, COVID-19, and the vaccine rollout.

For approximately the 30th straight week, Dr. Norem wanted to initially focus on encouraging people to get the vaccine if they have not already. I fully realize that is getting to be a broken record for some people but it remains the safest way out of the pandemic according to literally every medical professional we have ever talked to on the show.

You can listen to the whole interview here.

One of my favorite lines from today's interview was when I asked Dr. Norem to explain what he would say to a patient that told him they didn't want to take the vaccine because they would rather take their chances with COVID than with an "unknown" vaccine.

"It comes down to doing something for your community. You might be fine but the continued transmission of the coronavirus in unvaccinated individuals could lead to more dangerous mutations that could send us back to where we were last year or even worse," said Dr. Norem. You could hear the frustration in Dr. Norem's voice. This is a man that's not playing any political games, he just wants the best for his patients and community.

In addition to the vaccine questions, we also got into the recent mask guidelines, how they're testing for the new variants and what's going to be next in all this.

We thank Dr. Norem for his time and teaching us something new again, he seems to do that every week. We look forward to his next visit on Monday morning at 7:05.
