Midwest Love Languages We Don’t Talk About Enough
I love talking about love languages. Like, love love talking about them! Especially when it comes to dating and relationships, yes.
Let's be honest, everyone shows love differently. Something you love might not be someone else's cup of tea and that's okay! But, if you don't like my love languages; gifts, conversation, and experiences, then I don't want you. Bye.
Anyway, there are four classic love languages we tend to stick by, but the Midwest has their own category. Because out here? Yeah, love isn't always big gestures or elaborate gifts. It's practical. Sometimes, it looks like a lot like someone just doing stuff for you without saying a word. The best kind of love.

Let's take a look at the most common love languages you'll probably find around the Midwest.
Midwest Love Languages We Don’t Talk About Enough
ACTS OF SERVICE - This checks out. Someone plows your driveway without charging you. Brings your trash cans to the curb. Doesn't bat an eye. That's love!
QUALITY TIME - Not fancy dates or elaborate plans (especially in winter!). It's sitting in the car after dinner. Watching the same show together every week. Running errands together for no reason. Eating pizza together on the couch binge-watching shows. That's time well spent!
FOOD IS A MAJOR LOVE LANGUAGE! Technically, this could call under gifts or acts of service, but let's be real: it deserves its own category. Bringing leftovers. Making sure you've eaten. Ordering extra just in case. If someone feeds you, that means they care about you.
CONVERSATION - Once you get past surface level talks, you start to realize we love to talk. Deep talks happen late, unexpectedly, and longer than planned.
Midwest love languages aren't about grand gestures or dramatic moments. They're about effort, loyalty, and showing up in ways that actually matter. If you know what to look for, the love is there!
