Nearby Town Named ‘America’s Best Communities’ Semi-Finalist

Congratulations, DeKalb, that's quite an honor!

While the city of DeKalb didn't make the final round in America's Best Communities, the city did receive a semi-finalist titled and a check for $25,000, which is pretty great for a town in the middle of Illinois.

The competition started over a year ago and DeKalb obviously did an amazing job showing America's Best Communities that they have what it takes to be a great community.

Three winning towns will be crowned America's Best Communities in April 2017. Even though DeKalb isn't in the competition anymore, you may have noticed #ProudlyDeKalb signs all around the city.

DeKalb plans to continue the proud-ness with their new website, Proudly DeKalb, asking community members to share what they love about the city.
