AMC Theaters is attempting to ramp up fading ticket sales by going the way of Netflix.

The subscription based movie and TV service, Netflix, has proved to gain big returns and AMC Theaters believes a similar idea could work for them too.

According to the NY Times, AMC Theaters along with MoviePass, have teamed up to allow movie-goers to see one movie a day for a monthly fee.

The rumored monthly charge would start at $35 for standard screens and $45 for IMAX.

AMC will begin testing the service January 2015 in two major cities, Denver and Boston.

Before you get too excited about going to see movies at Showplace 16 or 14 it might take a while for this make it's way to Rockford.

Nonetheless I'm pretty excited, is there any chance the monthly fee covers concessions?

After all, the best part of a bad movie is the popcorn.
