New Rockford Coffee Shop Offering Employment To Those Recovering From Addiction

A brand new coffee shop is set to open in downtown Rockford and the employee hiring process will be a bit different.

HIRE Grounds is looking to hire people with "criminal backgrounds and those who struggle with addiction" per WIFR.

The owner of HIRE Grounds, David Armstrong, has also fought his own addiction and hopes that the coffee shop will help people overcome them.

Armstrong tells the Rockford Register Star, "we really just want to provide people with a starting point" and "that way we can get together to hopefully change some lives."

HIRE Grounds is located at 303 Mulberry Street in Rockford and is said to be open soon.
