One of Illinois’ ‘Biggest’ & Tastiest Festivals Set For This Weekend
If you're like me, married, kids, and looking for something the entire family can do, you won't have to go far to find one of Illinois' "biggest" festivals.
Named one of Illinois' ten best festivals by Trip101, Long Grove Apple Fest is set to go off this Friday, September 24 through Sunday, September 26.
It is one of the biggest apple festivals in the region. The fair is renowned for the apple delicacies and flavored products, from apple cider donuts to apple-flavored cotton candy, and more...In addition to all the apple-inspired goodness, there is live music on the background to keep you entertained.
Apple Fest is just one of a whole bunch of festivals that occur in Long Grove throughout the year.
Taking a look at the Village of Long Grove website, they have 17 different events and gatherings listed including:
- For the Love of Chocolate
- Strawberry Fest
- Irish Days
- Scarecrow Day
- Halloween Town
- and Vintage Days
As far as Apple Fest is concerned, LongGrove.org says:
Long Grove’s Apple Fest is known for the apple pies, donuts, caramel dipped to candied apples, apple wine, sangria, and more! In addition to all of the delightful apple specialties, you can even try some options right off the menu at our local hometown restaurants.
They also have something called a mini 6" Carmel Apple Pie.
Apple Fest is located in downtown Long Grove, at the Stempel parking lot 308 Old McHenry Road. Admission is $5 while kids 6 and under are free.
