Thanks To Illinois Target Employee For Doing Job Most Couldn’t Handle
If you have never worked retail or any type of customer service job in your lifetime, there are three types of customers you have to be very aware of besides 'The Karen'.
1. The Discount Customer - A person who loves discounts and is always on the lookout for ways to save money on their purchases. They'll try everything at the register to save even a penny!
2. The Loyal Customer - Your favorite person who visits you frequently and stands up for you when a Karen is being out of line.
3. The Angry Customer Who Can't Get An Issue Resolved - The person I was standing behind at the Pickup area today.
I was doing an online order pick-up at Target in Rockford when the woman ahead of me got so worked up about a gift card she purchased at the store that kept saying "Not Activated" when she tried using it.

It's also not an easy job to work in this type of customer service area. You get belittled, yelled at, talked down to, and everything else in the book by customers who can't seem to find kinder words to express their emotions.
Listen, it's not the end of the world.
To the employee who was cool, calm, and collected during the entire encounter:
I don't know how you do it. Working not only in customer service, but in the 'Returns' and 'Order Pick-Up' area has to be exhausting.
You do not get paid enough to deal with the worst of the worst. Kudos to you for having the thickest skin of anybody on the Planet. You're doing God's work, really.
I know we both gave each other the eyebrow raise and giant sigh of relief when it was my turn at the register. I promise, I will never be that customer. Ever.
So, to the Target employee at the Rockford location, thank you for making your job look so easy and effortless. People might say the cruelest things to you some days, but just know at the end of the day you get to clock out and go home!
