Speculation began yesterday on the What's Happening in Rockford, IL? Facebook with this:

Anyone else heard Pancheros is closing in one month!? Everyone go support the workers who are still there despite corporate taking their jobs The new crew has been amazing and most are college students. Excellent food and service, I will miss it.

Rockford Residents React to Panchero's Closing Rumors

As expected, people ran with the story, including someone who thought the Starbucks next door to Panchero's would also be closing. The Starbucks location in Rockford that has already closed is the one in the Menard's parking lot.

Anyway, as confused as everyone was, someone used Google Gemini to say that the person posting the story about Panchero's imminent closure was full of malarkey; the General Manager, Katie, chimed in to say a few things:

Hi everyone! I’m the General Manager of this location. We really appreciate all the love and support from our loyal and amazing customers. It is true that we will be closing at the end of the October. We cannot thank everyone enough who has visited and supported us over the years! We will miss you all and each other very much.

Panchero's Rockford Closing Date Confirmed

We spoke with Katie today and confirmed Panchero's is indeed closing on October 25.
