I'm no mathematician or anything but when someone asks me "what's 5+5+5?", the obvious answer is 15. At least that was the answer when I took 3rd grade math back in 1989, but apparently the answer has changed. Well, at least the interpretation.

That's according to one teacher who doesn't agree with this student's breakdown of question #1 on the quiz: Use the repeated addition strategy to solve: 5x3.  Take a look; the student obviously did precisely what was asked.  The teacher marked it wrong because he/or she didn't answer it with: 3+3+3+3+3= 15.

I can completely understand where this teacher is coming from, it says 5X3 which technically is 5-3s but give this poor 8 year old some credit.
