Instead of watching people across the country are scouring through piles of old VHS tapes to see if they're sitting on a goldmine.
The only thing they're probably sitting on is a bunch of old movies that don't look near as good as they do on BluRay.
A internet rumor started around Memorial Day talking about Black Diamond Classic Edition copies of classic Disney movies like Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast were fetching large dollars on websites like eBay.
A quick trip to Snopes show those claims are bunk, malarkey, and hooey.
The wild internet claims were apparently drummed up to increase demand. A quick scan around eBay shows you can pick up those Black Diamond versions for pretty cheap.
Who knew? A story fabricated and facilitated by the internet? How novel.
