Reports have indicated positive COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Illinois. It's a bit of a challenge to scroll through social media without reading about it. With that said, earlier this week Illinois Governor, J.B. Pritzker hinted at slapping another stay-at-home order on al of the Land of Lincoln.

Pritzker expressed concerns about rising cases in the state as we rapidly approach Thanksgiving, a time when families all over America gather for food, drinks, and fellowship. The thought of some families not being able to gather on the turkey day is devastating for some, while are ok with seeing loved ones virtually. Illinois' other "JB" (I've claimed the title first) says he doesn't want to make such an extreme decision but if he has to he will. Whatever it takes to truly create a curve evident of COVD-19 cases being under control.

We are looking at really all the possibilities - the possibility that we would have to go back a phase, the possibility that we would have to ultimately have a stay-at-home order - those are not things that I prefer to do. But those are things that these numbers are not sustainable.

With the number of positive coronavirus cases increasing, it's important to note Illinois has made changes to report their numbers, according to NBC5 Chicago's recap of Pritzker's media briefing this past Sunday. This change is something I'm failing to understand.

It's important to note, however, that the state recently changed its reporting of daily cases, adding in "probable" cases, which include positive results from rapid antigen tests in the state.

Does this mean if we get an antibodies test and it returns positive that I have COVID then it will cause Illinois' number to rise? This is very confusing and seems a bit much, I will agree. But COVID-19 is very real and we need to do our part by masking up, being aware of our surroundings. The sooner the curve begins to begin the closer we will be to whatever the new normal will be.
