What I Won At My Very First Rockford Auction
I thought I was walking into an estate sale or garage sale just last weekend, but instead I got myself caught up in a full-blown auction!
At first, I was just there to look around. But then I started seeing everyone bidding in the backyard of this house on literally everything. Kinda gave me FOMO.
It was all dirt cheap! $1 was basically the starting bid on everything, majority of everything they were auctioning off. Some people walked away with incredible deals and finds, and that includes myself.

As the auction started migrating up to the front of the house, I asked one of the women working the auction if they could help me bid because I didn't know what I was doing at all. They helped me through the first bid, which was dangerously easy, so I started bidding on all sorts of things. Tell me why I won three things for dirt cheap?!
What I Won At My Very First Rockford Auction
My first auction win: Butler toilet roll holder for $10. Did I need it? No. Did I want it for my bathroom? Yes.
My second auction win: A vintage couch set with chairs for $5. I didn't even have a truck to transport the furniture, but somehow it's all magically sitting in my entryway right now.
My final (and most iconic) auction win: A treasure chest full of adult magazines that probably go for a lot on Ebay. $2.

Auctions are dangerous, and I was thinking about going to another one soon. So, if you love thrifting, garage sales, or estate sales, and dirt cheap things, maybe an auction is in your near future. Didn't know it'd become my new favorite hobby until I experienced it last weekend.
