Rockford Chocolate Shop Lands On ‘Oprah’s Favorite Things’ List

The type of thing that makes or breaks businesses just happened to a local chocolate shop for the second time.

If you didn't know Oprah Winfrey publishes her Favorite Things list at about the same time each year.

The newly announced list will be published in the December issue of O Magazine and one of the favorite things on it is from a Rockford chocolate shop, Chocolatorium Inc. located at 613 Chestnut Street.

This is the second time a brand under Chocolatorium Inc. has been profiled as one of Oprah's Favorite Things.

The Rockford Register Star says "In 2012, Dark Secret Chocolate, one of The Chocolatorium’s two brands, was featured in the 'Oprah’s Favorite Things' holiday gift guide, spurring an increase in business from across the country."

The other brand, Cacao Cuvee checked in at #93 this year with their Six-Piece Galapagos Holiday Gift Box, and it looks insanely delicious.

The Cacao Cuvee website describes the chocolates as their version "of a turtle on steroids" and says one piece is "large enough to share with someone, but why would you?"

That's the thing, the holidays are rapidly approaching. Do you buy these for someone else as a gift or treat yo self? We know the answer, and yes, we said: "it's OK."
