Heads Up Rockford: Garbage Collection Paused This Thanksgiving
Before you put your garbage out on Thanksgiving Day, let's find out whether or not your trash will even be collected in Rockford!
We get into a routine in our daily lives, so when it gets thrown off, life becomes absolute chaos. Even if you think, "it's not that serious," listen, someone you know if going to call and be like, "DID YOU KNOW TRASH DAY GOT MOVED???" like it's the biggest news in the world.
Heads Up Rockford: Garbage Collection Paused This Thanksgiving
If your normal garbage pick-up day is on Thursdays, your garbage will be collected on Friday, November 28th this year, the day after Thanksgiving.

There will be no garbage collection on Thursday, November 27th due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Again, NO garbage pickup this Thursday! Tell your spouse, your neighbors, and all the kids in the neighborhood to tell their parents.

While I have you, let's talk about something that might be quietly living in your garage or basement because you don't know how to get rid of it: Latex paint.
Latex paint is no longer being accepted, so please don't toss half-used cans into your bin and hope for the best. The proper way to get rid of it now is to leave the container open and let the paint dry completely. If you want to speed up the process, mix in some cat litter, oil dry, or quick-set cement powder to help solidify it faster.

Once completely dry, the can can be placed next to your regular garbage on normal pick-up days (just make sure the lid is off so it's clear the paint is no longer a liquid).
