A new report has put Rockford on top of the list of best cities in Illinois for new homebuyers.

Owning a home is something many of us aspire to do. In the last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, real estate markets were all over the place. The economic impact of the virus was crushing, but not to all places in America.

According to Insurify, there are several markets that have experienced a real state boom. The Forest City being one of those markets with the biggest boom. Rockford was just named The Best City in Illinois for New Home Buyers.

Rockford was scored based on real estate demand, employment levels, public school enrollment, and driver and pedestrian safety.

While this study shows how great our region is for homebuyers, it's also a tremendous time to try to sell your home. Hundreds have been moving out of the state of Illinois for the last few years. If you wish to be one of them, you may not have to wait as long as you thought.

Shane Hartje, Envoy Mortgage Rockford sales manager, says:

"Listings are hard to find - some houses are selling within hours of being listed - I work with many of the top realtors within a 45-60 mile radius of Rockford including WI. - 23 years of lending and 31 total years in banking and I’ve never seen a Seller’s Market like this."
