The One Thing Rockford Restaurants Need To Stop Doing
This is just a really big pet peeve of mine, but I'm going to vent about it because it's been something I've noticed a lot of places do these days.
One thing I've noticed lots of Rockford restaurants have started doing? Using QR code menus so you can only see the menu on your phone. Sometimes, a physical menu is so much nicer (especially if your phone always dead!). Plus, I came to a restaurant to not be on my phone, but I'm still using it at the table. It doesn't make sense to me.

The One Thing Rockford Restaurants Needs To Stop Doing
Stop with the QR menus! Call me "old-fashioned" or maybe I'm just tired of staring at screens all day, but there's something about sitting down, opening a real menu, and actually talking to a real person to order my food. It just feels right... and normal! I spend all day on my phone, in front of my computer, and lots of screens at work. When I go out, I try to take a break from technology.
I understand that COVID changed a lot of things about the way the world works now, and QR codes did make sense during that time. But at this point, can we retired them?! Being isolated from society for years make me realize that human interaction is an important part of keeping a society sane. We lose social skills if we don't have it!
If we stopped connecting face-to-face, we forget how to talk to strangers. Other people. Friends. Family. Everyone. I might think too deeply into this, but it starts with the little things, like a QR code menu.
Anyway, that's what I needed to get off my chest. I'd love for restaurants to bring back the traditional menus. I don't want to zoom in on my phone to see the menu, I want a real human to take my order!
