Whether it's inside or outside the classroom, you've definitely heard a wonderful story how a teacher went the extra mile for their students.

First off, I'd like to say thank you to all of the educators in the Rockford area and beyond.  You are doing the work a lot of us couldn't - your patience, drive, and determination to better the future for so many students is truly amazing.

I have a handful of friends who are back in their adorable, decorated classrooms for the new school year ready to learn all about their new students.  One specific Facebook friend I have is a first grade teacher from Bloom Elementary School in Rockford.

Her name is Miss Fauerbach and she's going the extra mile for her students!

For the past 4 years, Miss Fauerbach has had a Scholastic Book Club in her classroom.  Once a month, all 21 of her students get to "shop" at the classroom library from a variety of brand new books.  As a bonus, they get to keep the book they choose!

Unfortunately, prices have gone up on the Scholastic books and we all know teachers spend so much out of their own pocket to make their kids happy!

That's when Miss Fauerbach took it to Facebook looking for "sponsors" for every single student in her classroom.

She has already raised a handful of donations from friends and family before the school year even started, but hopes to treat her students all year long and stimulate their minds outside the classroom.

Like she said in her Facebook post, "This is honestly one of my favorite things as a teacher, because I see the impact that having books at home does for kids."

Miss Fauerbach is looking for anybody wanting to "sponsor" a single student by donating $15 that'll go toward a book for every month they shop at the Scholastic Book Club!

I already sent in my $15 because I really believe this is an incredible idea that could impact a child's future.  Not many students have access to fun books at home, so why not give them that opportunity to thrive?!

If you'd like to help Miss Fauerbach and her classroom this year, you can send your donations directly to her Venmo - @Nicole-Fauerbach!

We hope you have a fantastic school year, Miss Fauerbach.  Thank you to all the teachers who go the extra mile every day, as well!
