There are so many parking lots around Rockford that are absolute nightmares to drive through.

For no reason.

I'm not even talking about finding a parking spot.  I'm talking about the actual experience of getting through the parking lot without getting road rage, hitting a pothole or wondering where three different cars are suddenly coming at you from every which way!

Some parking lots just have narrow drive aisles that make you feel clostrophobic, others have postholes that you know will never get patched up.  Then you have all the drivers who back out without looking, have no sense of urgency, or completely forget there are rules of the road.

So, what parking lots around town are just not the vibe when it comes to driving through them?  Do you avoid any because they're atrocious?

Here were the most mentioned when I asked on Facebook:

  • Sam's Club
  • Woodman's
  • Target on 173
  • Costco (yes, yes, yes!)
  • Forest Plaza Strip Mall
  • CVS on Alpine and State

Woodman's can definitely feel huge, but somehow the parking lot can still feel chaotic.  So many drive aisles and you can't really see when someone is coming through.

Costco is its own special kind of mess.  Between the people looking for spots, and loading their groceries, it can get really stressful.

I'm by Edgebrook all every day and I say this has to be one of the worst because people don't understand the parking lot is made up of one-way drive aisles.  Plus, all the businesses and Dunkin' are there, too.  It's just a lot going on, always.

What parking lot in the Rockford are is an absolute nightmare to take on?
