For millions who watch TV, this was a normal part of every night when you stayed up late.

Hard to believe there was a time when television stations didn't air any kind of programming after midnight. Until the 1980's, when 24 hour programming began, at the end of the last show, television stations would air the National Anthem before signing off the air for the day. Local television station 23 News (WIFR) is bringing back that tradition, by airing the National Anthem every broadcast day, according to wifr.com. Gray Media Group, owners of WIFR, has not announced when the airings will take place.
