Romantic Weekends Are Best Spent In This Wisconsin Town

So many wonderful things have been said about this Wisconsin lake town and it comes as no surprise, that it just made the list of the 'most romantic' towns in America.

That's real, I am asking. If it doesn't come right to mind, what some romantic time away looks and feels like, it has been too long.

What you do on a romantic weekend, is not the conversation we're having right now. That's really between you and the person you need time away with.

The 2-2-2 Relationship Rule

This rule is tougher to apply, but even more necessary, if you have children.

Every 2 weeks, a date night.

Every 2 months, an overnight trip.

Every 2 years, a vacation for just the two of you.

I don't know 'what' your romantic weekend should be,

but I have a great recommendation on the 'where'.

New York Travel Guides just published their list of, 140 Most Romantic Small Towns in America, and named my favorite Wisconsin lake town one of them.

Travel Guides compared 600 American towns across 4 different categories:

• Romantic places to stay: Places with a view, luxury hotels, and bed and breakfasts.
• Romantic activities: The presence of certain romantic features in each small town, such as spas, horse-drawn carriage rides, horse-drawn sleigh rides, movie theaters, performing arts theaters, art galleries, and ski areas.
• Historic architecture and scenery: Number of listings on the National Register of Historic Places and scenery like mountain and lake views.
• Cozy coffee shops and restaurants: Number of highly rated coffee shops and the number of fine dining restaurants.

Lake Geneva, Wisconsin - One of America's Most Romantic Small Towns

Condé Nast Traveler has written of Lake Geneva as the town that will "dazzle all of your senses."

Condé Nast shared these words about Lake Geneva when the travel experts named the town one of the, Most Beautiful Towns in America.

Here's the magic of Lake Geneva, at least in my eyes. If you're applying the '2-2-2 Relationship Rule', you can fulfill any of the 2s in this incredibly romantic small town, which was number 43 on the list of 'most romantic' small towns. Carmel-by-the-Sea, California was the most romantic town on the list.

Lake Geneva was one of two Wisconsin towns to make the list, the other town was Sturgeon Bay, which ranked 139.
