Five area REALLY SMART KIDS are competing in the Scripps National Spelling Bee this week. I'm just glad the spell check works on this whole blog thing, yikes.

I'm putting my money on Roscoe native, Avani Joshi. According to RRSTAR "misogynist" was the word that sent her to Scripps National Spelling Bee, but according to Avani, that wasn't even the hard one. What?!? How about "virgule" which is another word for "slash."

“I knew how to spell it, but I had to be very careful, the pronunciation is weird." - Avani Joshi

The 92nd Scripps National Spelling Bee will go until Thursday. Good luck, Avani...96.7 The Eagle is they're, their, there...for you!
