It's probably a long shot, but a user on Reddit is asking for your help in tracking down his dad's 1968 Camaro that was purchased in Rockford back in 1975. Judging by his post, it would mean a lot to him as his dad is turning 60 this year and I imagine he's got every intention of restoring it, or at least purchasing it, as a surprise gift.  How amazing would that be to surprise someone you love with something that they probably treasured so much.

Here's what we know, directly from Reddit:

I know it's a one-in-a-million shot, but I'm pretty much out of leads.

I'm trying to track down a Blue 1968 Camaro 350 LT1 that was sold to a sprint car racer in (or from) Rockford around 1975. That's about all the information I have to go on so far. It may not even be Blue anymore, hell, it may not even exist.

The car was originally my father's when he was younger and was sold to a friend of his, who then sold it to this sprint car racer. My dad turns 60 this year and I was hoping to at least track down the car and see what sort of condition it was in (if it even still exists) to see if I could possibly purchase it for him.

Unfortunately I do not have the VIN number anywhere otherwise this would be a lot easier, so I'm just resorting to my last ditch efforts here. Like I said, I know it's a long shot, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try. I've already crossposted in /r/rockford, but I figured this would give me a wider reach in case the person may not live in rockford anymore.

Thanks in advance for any help.

If this sounds familiar and you might have a lead, you can contact the person looking for the car here.
