Sorry, ‘Star Wars’ Isn’t And Won’t Be Filming In Illinois

It's the second time this week a Hollywood type scam has been all over the internet.

First, it was the hilariously false Notebook 2 filming in DeKalb rumors. Now, it's Star Wars in Illinois.

If you know a bit about the Star Wars franchise, you'd know they've never filmed in Illinois.

Most recently, the seventh Star Wars film The Force Awakens was shot overseas. So the thought of this coming to the U.S. is pretty cray cray.

That hasn't stopped other websites from posting stories claiming that Star Wars is filming in Illinois and that they're looking for extras.

That story is totally not true. Matter of fact, Snopes files the claim as false. Even the director of the 8th Star Wars film, Rian Johnson weighed in.
