Another supermoon is occurring early Wednesday morning but what is it, exactly?

Here is how Space.com defines a supermoon,

A supermoon happens when the full moon coincides with the moon's closest approach to Earth in its orbit. Supermoons make the moon appear a little brighter and closer than normal.

There are more than 20 supermoons happening in 2021 with all sorts of interesting names and the stories behind them, all of which you can learn about in the photo gallery below. The name behind this month's supermoon makes total sense, it's called "flower moon" because flowers bloom in May.

In order to get a view of the supermoon, you're going to need to get up pretty early or stay up extra late depending on your sleep schedule. Also, the skies will need to be clear to get the best view. (Duh.) In either circumstance, set an alarm for very early Wednesday morning.
