If you've lived through spring in Illinois, you know it's less of a season and more of an emotional rollercoaster. One days it's 72 degrees, sunny, and everyone is eating lunch outside pretending summer has arrived. The next day? There's frost on your windshield and the heat is back on.

I've been so confused on what to wear every day this week because the temperatures won't stay consistent. I got too hot at work, then too cold when I walked outside, and it just kept going in an endless cycle!
Spring in Illinois feels like "emotional whiplash" I like to call it. Why? Because you never know what version of the season you're waking up to. We go from wearing light coats to shorts and sandals the next week. My windows have been opened one day, then closed the next with the heat on. When will it end?!

There's the constant allergy versus cold confusion. Are your eyes watering? Pollen making you sneeze? Wind pushing you over? It's a full-time job to try and figure out what the weather will be each day in the springtime. So annoying.

But maybe the biggest emotional whiplash comes from the hope spring brings. After months of gray skies and brutal cold, one sunny Illinois day can instantly life up our moods. Suddenly, we're all outside, enjoying the weather, and taking our kids to the park.
