Stephenson County Residents Can Now Register for COVID Vaccine
A couple of weeks ago the Winnebago County Health Department issued an online survey where interested residents could register to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. This pre-registering does not equal the first place in line to get the shot as they become available, but it does help the County determine where your place in line should be.
The Stephenson County Health Department now has a similar survey for its residents, and it is officially open for you to fill out today.
Remember, filling out the survey acknowledges that you want to receive the COVID vaccine, and your answers to a few health history and work questions will help determine the time frame for when you will be able to get it.
Now for where Illinois sits in the vaccine rollout time frame, according to wrex.com;
Illinois could move to the next phase of vaccinations as early as this week. That next phase, dubbed 1B, includes people 65 and older and frontline essential workers like first responders, education, food and agriculture, manufacturing, corrections workers and inmates, USPS workers, public transit workers, grocery store workers and staff at shelters and day cares.
If you are still on the fence about whether you should get the vaccine or not because you are worried about side effects, let me tell you this; my husband is a healthcare worker who has now received both shots of the vaccine. He also had COVID back in October. He had stronger reactions to the vaccine after he received the second shot, which he was told was likely because he already had the virus. The chills and slight fever he experienced following the second shot were gone within 24 hours, and his arm hasn't fallen off or anything. 😉
