Suicide Squad

By now, you’ve probably decided to go in one of two different directions. Either you are steadfastly refusing to watch any additional Suicide Squad footage — having made your mind up ages ago to see the film and hoping not to ruin major moments in the film any more than you already have — or you’ve decided, screw it, and are gorging yourself on the many, many photos and character clips that Warner Bros. has prepared for us. If you’re part of the first group, then I’m sorry to say that the best Suicide Squad video just dropped and you’re probably not going to get to see it.

Aside from a few brief glimpses in the trailers, we haven’t seen much of Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress in Suicide Squad. The mystical and mysterious villain is the subject of one of two new promos for David Ayer’s upcoming DC super-villain film, while the other…well, he doesn’t really need an introduction.

From the moment we got our first look at Margot Robbie in Suicide Squad, it was obvious that her take on Harley Quinn would easily be the best thing about the film. A new extended promo for David Ayer’s super-villain team-up further makes that point clear, as The Joker’s (former?) partner-in-crime takes the spotlight and proves that she’s not at all what she seems.

Yesterday, Entertainment Weekly revealed four new covers featuring the cast of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, which has taken over the latest edition of the magazine. As you probably assumed, that was just the tip of the iceberg, as even more new photos have arrived showing off the full rogues gallery (along with Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller) from the highly-anticipated anti-hero team-up.

When Christopher Nolan first revealed Heath Ledger’s Joker for The Dark Knight, fans were pretty annoyed with the drastic departure from the classic depictions of the character. Reactions to Jared Leto’s version of the character from Suicide Squad were twice as intense thanks to that gold grill and his collection of questionable tattoos, which mostly left fans feeling baffled. Suicide Squad is one of our most anticipated films of the summer — mostly because after a few months of watching heroes save the world in big blockbusters, it’ll be fun to see a team of villains swoop in to shake things up. If Amanda Waller is to be believed in these new TV spots, these guys (and a couple of ladies) are the worst of the worst, but maybe that’s what we need right now.

While most fans agree that Margot Robbie is the perfect choice for the role in Suicide Squad, there’s been much less agreement over her wardrobe — or lack thereof — in David Ayer’s upcoming film. Robbie herself has officially chimed in, offering her thoughts on Harley’s controversial fashion choices.
