Your child is growing faster than you'd ever imagined and that's why this trade-in event is so good. That bigger bundle of joy needs a different car seat now and your trade-in will earn you a discount coupon that you can use toward purchasing a new one. Target will also let you use the coupon towards the purchase of a stroller, or select baby gear.

Target teams up with Waste Management, twice a year, to collect all of the car seats traded in and recycle them into plastic buckets, steel beams, and carpet padding. To date, 1.97 million car seats have been recycled since the trade-in events began in 2016, resulting in 29.6 million pounds of recycled material.

Target's next trade-in event is September 11 - 24, 2022. When you bring in your old car seat, Target will give you a 20% off coupon. You have until October 8th to redeem the coupon.

According to wifr.com, Target has a goal of zero waste in U.S. operations by 2030, and the seat trade-in event helps them make great strides toward meeting that goal.
