Having a baby changes everything, right? Including how much money is left in your back account.

According to a recent study, it now costs a middle-American family $245,340 to raise a baby until adulthood. That includes mostly just basics: food, clothes, schooling and childcare.

This is based on children born in 2013, and is a 1.8% increase from last year.

The grand expense total changes a bit depending on where in the U.S. you live, but it is still pretty pricey!

Then, just think, after you pay that much for your little guy or girl to make it through their childhood, they'll probably spend more than that on college.

Got a new baby on the way? Maybe skip that $10 salad and say thanks to mom and dad for getting you this far.
