If you're anything like me, ice cream is an all-year-round thing. The cravings don't stop when summer ends. Period!

In the Rockford area, we are so lucky to have so many options to satisfy our sweet tooth. I worked at Coldstone for a few years and that when I really fell in love with ice cream. Being surrounded by it every single day was a blessing and a curse. What never changed was the amount of ice cream I always craved.

As a kid, my parents always made a stop at Pug's Diner in Loves Park. I remember getting a giant vanilla cone dipped in sprinkles and could barely ever finish it! That's when inflation wasn't crazy, the ice cream was so dirt cheap. The good ol' days.

Now, I go to Dairy Depot every summer. It's right down the street from my house and it's just a locally-owned shop that feels like family.

Seriously, everyone has at least one amazing memory at an ice cream shop. Think about it! When have you gone to get ice cream with family or friends and left upset? Never! Unless you dropped your ice cream, then I totally get it.
