2015 was a very busy year, and I missed a lot of the movies that I wanted to see at the theaters.

I was recovering from knee surgery, my wife and I had our third child, and life in general got in the way of doing what I love doing the most. I love going to see movies.

I didn't want 2015 to end up like 2014, and 2013 where I missed all of the movies that I wanted to see, so I decided to watch 30 movies in 30 days.

The marathon started on December 1st with The Wedding Ringer.

I thought "so far so good," meaning the movie wasn't the greatest but I had a feeling if I really concentrated I thought I might be able to sit through 30 movies consecutively.

Little did I know how difficult it would really be. I know, it's just watching a movie, but if you are gainfully employed and have a family, finding two hours a night to watch a flick could be a challenge.

That was something I didn't plan on but I did have a little something on my side. I had mentioned earlier that my wife and I just welcomed our third child into the world, and at the moment he is just a little over 7 weeks old.

Babies of that age don't tend to sleep through the night and while I'm away my wife has been the primary caregiver. When I get home, that usually changes.

What I'm saying is that my baby is the main reason I made it through all 30 days.

His late night feedings allowed me to watch movies at two sometimes three o'clock in the morning.

I did experience some weaker moments while making it through my month long movie marathon.

Like when I fell asleep on back-to-back nights watching Blackhat and The Gunman. Both, by the way, aren't worth picking up again just to see how it ended.

Getting to shoehorn the new Star Wars movie into the movie marathon midway through was really the saving grace of the whole project.

It helped me power through to the very end which by the way might have been the best movie I saw during my 30 movies in 30 days.

So there you have it, I made it through 30 movies in 30 days. Something that never even existed, that I made up strictly to get through a long holiday month and watch the movies I missed in 2015.

Here's an "inside the numbers" look at what happened during my movie marathon.
