The Illinois State Police will be conducting roadside safety checks this Saturday night in District 16 which includes the Rockford area.

Please don't drink and drive.

In this day and age with things like Uber, Lyft, cellphones, internet, taxis, and so much more, there is no reason for someone to get a DUI.

I guess someone forgot to tell Vince Vaughn.

According to wrex.com,

"Troopers with District 16 Police are set to conduct roadside safety checks on Saturday, June 16th."

District 16 covers most of our area including Winnebago, Boone, Stephenson, and Jo Daviess counties.

They will be checking for different offenses including seat belt checks, speeding, distracted driving, DUIs, vehicle code violations, and criminal warrants.

"Alcohol is the cause of death in more than 30% of accidents in Illinois around the U.S. Illinois State Police have zero tolerance for impaired driving in Illinois."

If you don't have it yet, make sure you download the Uber app on your phone before you go out partying that night.
