Tiny Illinois Town Called the State’s Best Place to Live for 2022

If you were going to move to one place and one place only in 2022, all while staying in Illinois, this would be the spot.

Personally, I have no plans to move this year. I love my home and my town so while I don't plan on packing up, if you're in the market for a fresh start you should really consider this town.

Here's why:

I stumbled upon a great website for finding what rules when living in Illinois. It's called AreaVibes.

The website goes through a few different metrics to deliver something they call a  "livability" score.

Area Vibes uses real estate, cost of living, crime rates, and rental prices to come up with a number.

That said, there might be no better place to live in Illinois than Leland Grove.

At first, I was like, what is Leland Grove, and where in the heck is Leland Grove?

After a quick Google search, I found this tiny slice of heaven is just west of Illinois' state capital, Springfield.

It's the kind of place where everyone knows your name because this tiny town's population is less than 1,500.

Leland Grove scored a 99 out of 100 on the livability score index on Area Vibes.

• Crime rates are 97% lower in Leland Grove, but real estate is 16% higher than the Illinois average.

HOME RENTALS AND COST OF LIVING IN LELAND GROVE

• Rental prices and cost of living are also 6% higher in Leland Grove than in the rest of The Land of Lincoln.

That's the trade-off though, right? The better the place to live, you'll generally spend more to live there and when it comes to Leland Grove, shelling out a bit more on goods and services seems to be worth every penny.
