Looking to gather your friends for a quick weekend getaway?
Here's the best part, you won't have to hop on a plane in order to do so either.
The website Your Time to Fly and their 11 Unique Destinations for Girls Weekend Getaways in the U.S. highlights some low-key great spots for a quick trip.
Long story short, if you're tired of having to go to Nashville for a fun weekend, you should take a look.
Even better, there's a place that continues to grow in popularity in the midwest.
It comes up so often on lists like these, there's a bit of trepidation in hyping up the town in fear of it changing some of its excellent uniqueness.
Either way, the top two spots are Fort Wayne, Indiana (#1 overall) and Flathead Lake Lodge, in Montana.
Sure you could make the hike out to Indiana to check out Fort Wayne but you aren't going to make it from Illinois or Wisconsin to Montana without a plane or a very long car ride, and seriously, who wants to do that?
A little bit closer to home, Door County, Wisconsin was recognized as one of America's most unique spots for a girls' trip.
Shopping, delicious food, and a wine trail, as well as countless outdoor adventures. Door County sits at the tip of a peninsula north of Green Bay. Surrounded by water on three sides, the peninsula is a dream getaway with breathtaking scenery, a thriving artist community, and endless opportunities for fun.
Have you been to Door County? Is it as good a spot for a girls' trip as Your Time To Fly says?
