BREAKING: Tap to Pay Is Coming to Walmart & Sam’s Club
Shoppers who have been waiting for a faster and more convenient way to pay at Walmart and Sam's Club are about to get the option they've been waiting for!
Beginning August 24th, Walmart will start adding Tap to Pay at select Walmart and Sam's Club locations, giving customers and members the ability to use contactless payment methods at checkout. The company said they plan to expand the feature to all U.S. Walmart stores and Sam's Clubs by the end of 2026, with Tap to Pay expected to reach fuel stations by mid-2027.
Shoppers are ecstatic, I know I am!
With the new payment option, shoppers will be able to finally use contactless credit or debit cards, smartphones and smartwatches to complete purchases. Eligible Walmart, Sam's Club and OnePay cars can also be added to support digital wallets, giving customers more flexibility when paying.
Tap to Pay will also join several payment methods already available at Walmart and Sam's Club. Customers will still be able to pay with cash, traditional credit cards or Walmart Pay, which allows shoppers to use the Walmart app to pay, view receipts and purchases, and access Walmart+ fuel savings.
