Illinois has been struggling financially for a long time. They've made a lot of bad decisions but this was finally a smart one. Everyone knew legal weed would generate huge cash for our state. It was pretty much a "no-brainer." The piggybank is about to explode but many citizens have a major question.

Where Is The Legal Pot Money Going?

Each month the report comes out for legal marijuana sales in Illinois and it's earning millions of dollars. That has residents asking the question, "where is all that legal weed money going?" Well, I finally have an answer and luckily it's a good one.

This puts a big smile on my face. They are using some of the funds in Rockford to send students to college for an opportunity to receive a great education. I'm sure this same thing is happening across the state.

According to mystateline.com,

The scholarship program, Rockford Promise, received nearly $400,000 in funds generated by legal marijuana sales, which will be used to send students to college.

 

For the 2022-2023 school year, Rockford Promise will have more than 300 scholars attending RVC, RU, and NIU.
