You'd think this entire week we'd be talking about Rihanna and Valentine's Day candy going on sale, but nope, UFOs are topping the search engine trends.

Working in media is very weird. You literally spend your time wondering what everyone else wants to hear, read or see.

Your entire job is to cater to your audience and you use a ton of different tools to try to figure out how to do just that.

One of those tools is emails like the one I get every day from Google, the 'Google Trends Newsletter.'

When I opened it today, I expected it to be filled with Rihanna halftime show leftovers and details about how much candy we all eat during Valentine's Day week.

But nope, the lead trend today is 'Unidentified Flying Object Trends.'

According to the latest Google Trends email, 'what is in the sky,' is being searched right now in the entire country at an all time high!

This is followed by, 'are aliens real,' and 'extraterrestrial life.'

Why are we all googling this?

This is probably due to all of the news we've seen recently regarding the U.S. military shooting down different objects in the sky.

That's the thing right... UFOs are just 'unidentified flying objects,' they aren't necessarily aliens or foreign beings. They're just something without a big sign saying what it is.

Have you ever seen a UFO? What did you think it was?

Ummm, can anyone explain why these toys are tethered to an abandoned motel south of Rockford???
